Our Reputation

We’ve been delivering the highest standard of assessments for more than 2 years and we’re proud to have a full 5 star rating on google. Here are some of the things our clients have said about us…

I don’t use the phrase often, but my experience with Fraser and MAPP has been life changing. I shall forever be thankful.
When I went in for my assessment I felt comfortable & able to talk openly about what I had been struggling with for the last 35 years! I felt heard properly for the first time in my life - I have been treated for anxiety since I was 14, to find out at 45 I have ADHD completely re framed my entire perspective on my mental state - everything makes sense now - I can stop searching for the “why” & start focusing on the “how”. I can’t recommend MAPP psychology enough.
I was made to feel so at ease with Dr Fraser and my whole experience from the first inquiry I made to my assessment has been so positive. I would recommend MAPP Psychology to anyone looking for access to professionals who have YOUR best interests at heart.
Friendly and professional. Always helpful, attentive and caring.
My whole experience with MAPP was professional and incredibly helpful. From the booking process to working with my psychologist. The whole process was brilliant.
I was given help and advice throughout the entire process which made me feel comfortable in taking the leap to getting assessed privately. I am so glad that I did. I couldn’t recommend MAPP highly enough.
My ADHD assessment with Dr Lorenzen was a very cathartic experience and the first time I’ve felt really listened to. The time allocated felt like a luxury; it provided me with a safe space to really say how I felt and dig deep about past experiences and how they are currently affecting me. Dr Lorenzen is a warm and patient man and I felt understood by him.
I had my assessment with Dr Amirah Khan. She made me feel so welcome and at ease during the whole process. I have now finally came to terms with my symptoms and can now explore treatment options. This has been a life changing event for me and i can now be at peace with myself and get on with life.

From the moment you step into our office you'll be greeted with a smile and treated with empathy and respect.

  • We follow the NICE guidelines (in line with the NHS) and employ a variety of psychometric tests designed to assess various aspects of Autism symptoms and related difficulties. These tests:

    • Are carefully selected based on their validity, reliability, and sensitivity to Autism-related impairments.

    • Include measures of social communication skills, sensory processing, repetitive behaviours, and other key domains relevant to Autism diagnosis and evaluation.

    • Provide an objective and standardised way to measure Autism symptoms.

    • Allow for a more accurate and reliable assessment compared to subjective observations alone.

Our team understands that Autism presents differently in each individual and can coexist with other conditions, such as learning disabilities or mood disorders.

  • We believe in a comprehensive approach to Autism assessment that goes beyond just observation. Our private Autism assessment involves:

    • A thorough verbal interview that provides a platform for you to express your life experiences and challenges.

    • Valuable insights provided by loved ones, parents and other family members, recognising the unique perspectives they can bring on your behaviour and functioning.

By combining a full verbal assessment with collateral information we establish a clear understanding of the extent of any potential Autism diagnosis. This ensures the assessment is holistic, thorough, accurate, and reflective of your lived experience.

Our ADHD reporting process

At MAPP Psychology our commitment to your wellbeing extends beyond the assessment itself. We’ve developed a personalised reporting process designed to share outcomes in a clear and practical format - serving as an important resource in managing your life effectively.

  • Our private Autism assessment reports provide a clear and concise summary of our findings, ensuring that you and your family have a comprehensive understanding of the assessment outcome. In cases where Autism is diagnosed:

    • Our report clearly communicates the diagnosis, outlining the specific symptoms and criteria met.

    • We provide detailed explanations to raise awareness on how these symptoms manifest in your behaviour and functioning, as well as the potential impact on your education, work life, and relationships.

Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge, understanding and coaching you need to navigate your Autism diagnosis effectively, offering guidance and support every step of the way.

  • Our team recognises that every patient’s experience with Autism is unique, influenced by a myriad of factors including personality, environment, and personal history.

That's why our approach to private Autism assessments and reports is deeply personalised and subjective. Our doctors:

    • Take the time to build rapport with you.

    • Foster a trusting relationship that allows for open communication and collaboration throughout the assessment process.

    • Listen to your perspectives and experiences.

    • Ensure our reports reflect the nuances of your Autism symptoms and the impact they have on your daily life.

  • If you are diagnosed with Autism, we will equip you with practical tools and coaching techniques to navigate the associated challenges.

Our psychologists also help parents navigate the challenges of managing their child’s condition.

In addition to outlining any potential diagnosis, our reports:

    • Offer suggestions, coping strategies, and Autism coaching customised to your specific needs and circumstances.

    • Provide techniques for improving social communication skills, managing sensory overload and repetitive behaviours.

    • Empower you to effectively manage your symptoms and optimise your functioning in various domains of life.

  • We have both an in-house GP and partnerships with Glasgow and Edinburgh based consultant Psychiatrists to provide patients and parents with support and treatment plans where necessary.
