Our Reputation

We’ve been delivering the highest standard of assessments for close to 2 years and we’re proud to have a full 5 star rating on google. Here are some of the things our clients have said about us…

I don’t use the phrase often, but my experience with Fraser and MAPP has been life changing. I shall forever be thankful.
When I went in for my assessment I felt comfortable & able to talk openly about what I had been struggling with for the last 35 years! I felt heard properly for the first time in my life - I have been treated for anxiety since I was 14, to find out at 45 I have ADHD completely re framed my entire perspective on my mental state - everything makes sense now - I can stop searching for the “why” & start focusing on the “how”. I can’t recommend MAPP psychology enough.
Currently going through the process of being assessed for ADHD as a female in my 30s. I’ve found coming to terms with a lot of my symptoms daunting and overwhelming and I could not have been put more at ease from the moment I called to enquire. Dr Stephanie is lovely, highly recommend to any other late diagnosed females or anyone in general looking for a doctor in this field. Location very central but at the top of a building that felt warm, safe and secluded. Highly recommend MAPP.
I was given help and advice throughout the entire process which made me feel comfortable in taking the leap to getting assessed privately. I am so glad that I did. I couldn’t recommend MAPP highly enough.
My whole experience with MAPP was professional and incredibly helpful. From the booking process to working with my psychologist. The whole process was brilliant.
I just thought you’d like to know that my GP said your report was the highest standard of report he’d ever seen for an ADHD assessment.
My ADHD assessment with Dr Lorenzen was a very cathartic experience and the first time I’ve felt really listened to. The time allocated felt like a luxury; it provided me with a safe space to really say how I felt and dig deep about past experiences and how they are currently affecting me. Dr Lorenzen is a warm and patient man and I felt understood by him.
I had my assessment with Dr Amirah Khan. She made me feel so welcome and at ease during the whole process. I have now finally came to terms with my symptoms and can now explore treatment options. This has been a life changing event for me and i can now be at peace with myself and get on with life.

From the moment you step into our office you'll be greeted with a smile and treated with empathy and respect.

  • We follow the NICE guidelines (in line with the NHS) and employ a variety of psychometric tests designed to assess various aspects of ADHD symptoms and related difficulties. These tests:

    • Are carefully selected based on their validity, reliability, and sensitivity to ADHD-related impairments.

    • Include measures of attention, executive functioning, impulsivity, and hyperactivity, among others.

    • Provide an objective and standardised way to measure ADHD symptoms.

    • Allow for a more accurate and reliable assessment compared to subjective observations alone.

Our team understands that ADHD presents differently in each individual and can coexist with other conditions, such as learning disabilities or mood disorders.

  • We believe in a comprehensive approach to ADHD assessment that goes beyond just observation. Our private ADHD assessment involves:

    • A thorough verbal interview that provides a platform for you to express your life experiences and challenges.

    • Valuable insights provided by loved ones, parents and other family members, recognising the unique perspectives they can bring on your behaviour and functioning.

By combining a full verbal assessment with collateral information we establish a clear understanding of the extent of any potential ADHD diagnosis. This ensures the assessment is holistic, thorough, accurate, and reflective of your lived experience.

Our ADHD reporting process

At MAPP Psychology our commitment to your wellbeing extends beyond the assessment itself. We’ve developed a personalised reporting process designed to share patients’ outcomes in a clear, practical and supportive format - serving as an important resource in managing your life effectively.

  • Our private ADHD assessment reports provide a clear and concise summary of our findings, ensuring that you and your family have a comprehensive understanding of the assessment outcome. In cases where ADHD is diagnosed:

    • Our report clearly communicates the diagnosis, outlining the specific symptoms and criteria met.

    • We provide detailed explanations to raise awareness on how these symptoms manifest in your behaviour and functioning, as well as the potential impact on your education, work life, and relationships.

Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge, understanding and coaching you need to navigate your ADHD diagnosis effectively, offering guidance and support every step of the way.

  • Our team recognises that every patient’s experience with ADHD is unique, influenced by a myriad of factors including personality, environment, and personal history.

That's why our approach to private ADHD assessments and reports is deeply personalised and subjective. Our ADHD therapists:

    • Take the time to build rapport with you

    • Foster a trusting relationship that allows for open communication and collaboration throughout the assessment process.

    • Listen to your perspectives and experiences.

    • Ensure our reports reflect the nuances of your ADHD symptoms and their impact they have on your daily life.

  • If you are diagnosed with ADHD, we will equip you with practical tools and coaching techniques to navigate the associated challenges.

Our ADHD psychologists also help parents navigate the challenges of managing their child’s condition.

In addition to outlining any potential diagnosis, our reports:

    • Offer suggestions, coping strategies, and ADHD coaching customised to your specific needs and circumstances.

    • Provide techniques for improving attention and focus, managing impulsivity, enhancing organisational skills and fostering self-regulation.

    • Empower you to effectively manage your symptoms and optimise your functioning in various domains of life.

  • We have both an in-house GP and partnerships with Glasgow and Edinburgh based consultant Psychiatrists to provide patients and parents with support and treatment plans where necessary.

    • In-house GP: Can provide a cover letter to share your assessment report with your GP to support the diagnosis.

    • Partner Pyschiatrist: Can support with shared care arrangements with your GP, including ADHD medication where necessary.
