What is anxiety?

  • Generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) impacts how you frame your life.

  • It’s common for most people to experience an occasional degree of anxiety, however in contrast GAD is persistent and is present daily.

  • People who suffer from GAD will experience excessive tension with little to no obvious cause.

  • In some cases, when GAD is severe, physical symptoms can occur such as panic attacks, heart palpitations, digestive issues, and muscle soreness.

How can MAPP help?

  • When people become aware of their anxiety symptoms, they often try to improve their lifestyle choices around diet, exercise and relationships.

  • However, these can be hard to maintain long-term and may not work in more severe cases of anxiety.

  • Sometimes medication is prescribed to numb the symptoms, but without a broader strategy this can in fact exacerbate the anxiety.

  • The most effective form of treatment includes talking therapy, and at MAPP we have expertise in a variety of approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) to help you become proactive with your anxiety.

What results can you expect?

  • A combination of therapeutic approaches like CBT and/or DBT with mindfulness, and possible interventions like transactional analysis, will give you a better understanding of your root causes and how to manage them.

  • And we will work with you every step of the way towards a positive outcome. Seeking help is often the hardest part of the journey, and we want to help you start making better decisions for your future.

  • If you struggle with any form of anxiety, then it is time to reach out and seek help.

The MAPP approach to therapy

Each of our psychologists is fully trained and qualified, bringing a wealth of experience to the table.

They take the time to really listen, getting to know you and what you're going through, so they can shape an approach that actually fits your life - not a generic one-size-fits-all model.

They will work with you to make practical real life changes that help you move into a happier, healthier place.

Sessions start at £95 with a fully trained therapist and £130 with one of our fully qualified expert psychologists.
